Kettlebell Workshops

Monday Evenings 6:30-7:30pm Jan. 23-Mar. 13

Kettlebell training is a great way to build strength and lean muscle and burn through body fat! Tracee has been a Russian kettlebell instructor for over 6 years, and in these workshops she will teach you how to perform basic kettlebell movements with proper form and safety. Each workshop will focus on a couple different movements to help you master proper form and technique. You can sign up for all 8 workshops, or just the ones you would like to learn!

WEEK 1 - Jan. 23: Deadlift; Swing
WEEK 2 - Jan. 30: Swing, Clean, Overhead Press
WEEK 3 - Feb. 6: Clean; Strict Press; Push Press

A gentle, flowing, and progressive standing movement class designed to systematically improve full body awareness, mobility and balance. This twice weekly class is 30-40 minutes in length and open to all who could benefit from increased flexibility, dynamic balance and a novel movement practice.

Karate For Kids

Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of Shotokan Karate. This includes: Kata, Kihon and Kumite. Our students will learn self-defense, self-awareness, coordination, flexibility, self discipline. They will develop self-confidence, self-esteem and self-control.

Katherine Soskin One Woman Art Show

Katherine Soskin has used creativity as an outlet for her health challenges. Throughout her life, whether through song, cooking, writing, photography, poetry, painting or counseling, she has been very blessed to have wonderful teachers and mentors. Mostly, she is self-taught.
Her painting is a reflection of her travels, a palette for others to view the beauty of our world through watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic or multi-medium. Having been told, it's a miracle you are alive, has given her purpose and deep gratitude.
For over twenty-five years, she has painted and photographed landscapes from Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, England, Greece, Israel, the Galapagos Islands, the Americas, the Midwest and now, especially, the Southwest. You can view more of her work at www.katherinesoskin.com.

Meditation & Developing Your Systematic Practice

Learn to meditate in this step by step one day workshop using a classical yoga method. Following a series of steps, you will learn to regulate your breath, focus your attention, quiet your nervous system, ease body tension and gradually develop inner peace.

This class is for anyone who wants to learn mediation or develop a systematic practice. This class will be taught seated in chairs. Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a small pillow for back support (optional).

Splash Ball July 8 - August 12

Splash Ball is on Saturdays from 9am - 9:45pm. Each session is 45 minutes long. Water Polo is a great fitness complement to many other sports as you develop strength, coordination and endurance! Splashball combines your swim skills with ball handling skills. You must have a beginner background in swimming (completed Level 2 Seahorse or above). We'll introduce you to the basic skills and concepts you need to play this exciting game: treading water (Eggbeater), ball handling (dribbling, passing, shooting) all mixed in with a ton of FUN! Don't miss the last class of the session where we put all of our skills together for a fun mini-game!

If you're looking for a great summer job or challenging career that's in demand, the Red Cross Lifeguarding program is the place to start. Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn patron rescue and surveillance skills, first aid and CPR/AED. Courses are available with a focus on a variety of environments, including pools, waterfronts, waterparks and shallow water attractions. Must pass certain swimming requirements.

The JCC OrCaS swim team is a competitive, fun swim team open to boys and girls ages five and over who have achieved at least an intermediate level of swimming ability. The OrCaS are a part of the Sundance Swim League and will compete with other clubs around the state. The swim meets are held every week from the beginning of June to the end of July. The JCC will host the district meet for the Sundance Championships at the end of the season.

Aquaerobics is an enjoyable way to exercise while toning and trimming. Rhythmic water exercises are a wonderful way to keep in shape. This hour-long class takes place in the shallow end of the competition pool, which serves as an added resistance force.

High School Pre-Season Stroke Clinic September 6 - October 21

$125/ Swimmer

Mon-Thur 6:30pm-7:30pm
*No practice 10/3, 10/11 and 10/12 for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

This clinic is for both boys and girls to prepare for the upcoming High School swim season. Recommended for 8th grade swimmers and above. Each training session will have a goal of swimming 3,000+ yards, depending on level of experience and conditioning. The clinic will focus on:
-Stroke technique including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley
-Conditioning for all event distances in the High School swim meet format (50 through 500 yards)
-Race strategies for individual and relay events
Whether you are a new swimmer trying to improve your stroke technique and prepare for high school try-outs, or an experienced swimmer trying to achieve State Championship qualifying times, this clinic will offer a structured format and challenging workouts to help reach your goals.
