MORE ABOUT MELISSA:
While I was always active, running ultra marathons, skiing, riding mountain bikes, rock climbing, and swimming, I had an epiphany at age 49 in a class with Leanne that I should get more training and share this love of movement with others. So I did! And then my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I learned all I could about training during treatment, and worked with him and others from his support group for the last few years. Then I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis, and I learned all I could about training to reverse Osteoporosis and reduce fracture risk. I’m also interested in staying mobile and independent as we age since we’re all heading there. When I’m not at the JCC, I am a program manager for Oracle working on technical escalations around the globe. I also enjoy training my agility dog, marveling at my teenager becoming an adult and going to concerts with my husband.
