MORE ABOUT SHONDIIN
Yáʼátʼééh (hello) in Navajo!
Shondiin means “sunshine.” She was born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, where she grew up in her father’s downtown health club, Wowie’s Gym. Watching her dad wake up at 4:30 a.m. every day to pump iron inspired her to become the best personal trainer she could be.
Outside of work, Shondiin enjoys practicing yoga at CNM with Cosmic Crista, running the UNM golf course with Elias Romero, taking group exercise classes with Debbie Romero, strength training with free weights and resistance bands, and, best of all, riding scooters with her 9-year-old son, Dunte Jr., who makes her feel like a kid again.
Shondiin is also proud to be three years sober from drugs and alcohol and believes that exercising every day has played an important role in her recovery.
