Associates in Exercise Science and Wellness; ACE Certified Personal Trainer; Certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance; Level l + Level II Certified Kinesio Taping; currently working toward bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at UNM.

FOCUSES

5 components of physical fitness: body composition (RHR, RPB, VO2 max, BIA, Skinfolds); cardiorespiratory endurance (outdoor/track running, treadmill, elliptical, row, jump rope); flexibility and balance (hatha yoga); muscular strength; and endurance (free weights, resistance bands)

Yáʼátʼééh (hello) in Navajo! Shondiin means sunshine. I was born and raised in Gallup, NM in my dad’s downtown health club known as “Wowie’s Gym.” As a child, seeing my father wake up at 4:30 AM each day to pump iron truly inspired me to be the best personal trainer I can be. My hobbies are practicing yoga at CNM with cosmic Crista, running UNM golf course with Elias Romero, doing group exercise with Debbie Romero, strength training with free weights/resistance bands, and, to save the best for last, riding scooters with my 9-year-old son Dunte Jr. who makes me feel like a kid again. I am 3 years sober from drugs and alcohol, and exercising every day helps me in my recovery.
