T’ai Chi Chih – Joy Through Movement is a gentle, easy-to-learn moving meditation practice designed to support balance, relaxation, and overall well-being. Rooted in mindful movement, this practice consists of 19 simple movements and one standing pose that help circulate the body’s natural energy, often referred to as chi.

Unlike more complex martial arts–based tai chi forms, T’ai Chi Chih focuses on accessibility and ease. Movements are slow, rhythmic, and intentional, with attention gently placed on the soles of the feet as participants flow forward, backward, and side to side. This grounded approach encourages stability, focus, and a sense of calm.

While individual experiences vary, many participants report feeling deeply relaxed yet gently energized, often describing the sensation as similar to an “internal bath.” The practice is meditative, restorative, and adaptable for a wide range of abilities and fitness levels.

T’ai Chi Chih can be a powerful antidote to the stresses of daily life, supporting stress reduction, mindfulness, and a greater sense of physical and mental balance.

No prior experience is necessary. All are welcome.
