The World is your gym, when you’re rucking! Calling on outdoor-lovers, hiking enthusiasts and anyone wanting to start a healthy habit. Whether you are planning to backpack the Grand Canyon or just feel safer hiking with a group, this program is for you. Rucking, simply put, is hiking with a weighted backpack. It is a great workout for your legs and core while getting a low-impact cardio. Rucking is a social activity and safer for your joints than running. It is an activity that any fitness level can enjoy. Intro to Rucking is a 6-week program with intention of starting a JCC Rucking Club. First meeting will be on May 3rd at 9am at the JCC. Bring your own backpack – we will provide weights (as long as supplies last). The following 5-sessions will meet at various outdoor locations, which the JCC’s expert rucker and certified personal trainer, Joe Beman, has carefully selected.
